Does analysis paralysis have you stuck in your tracks? You want to build a passive income business but there are so many choices and so many gurus you don’t know which way to go. This episode has 3 tips to help you overcome this obstacle and get on your way to living the life you long for. With so many options, like eCommerce, blogging, drop shipping, course creation, and podcasting, it’s no wonder you feel stuck. Today it’s time to buckle down and take action with these 3 steps:
Happy Monday everyone - Welcome back - I’m your host Lindsay Sutherland, passive income business consultant and evergreen marketing strategist here to serve you.
Boy, is it ever getting busy over here! This podcast is about to heat up another notch!
I’ve got an amazing lineup of guests in the pipeline and hot topics coming your way! You better buckle up because the rodeo has begun yee-haw!
Emily Tornatore’s episode talking about back-office workflows is airing this week and lookout next week for Amanda Tento with TDM marketing - we are going to blow your mind about how Google Business listings can help even online business owners. Yes! That’s just a taste of what is to come so be sure to hit that subscribe button.
If you are wondering about all the rodeo references well, that comes from years of growing up around rodeo - My dad was involved in the Phoenix Jaycees Rodeo of Rodeos and my family went to rodeo functions literally my entire life. I volunteered on rodeo committees later in my early twenties. I even held a few rodeo queen titles in my day - which honestly is what I think has helped me to be a good podcaster. I learned how to speak well in front of people.
Now that you know a little more about me - I want to know more about you - Are we friends yet? If not, let’s connect over on IG. You can find me at the passive income examiner.
Listen y’all - this episode is for those of you stuck in analysis paralysis! Yes, you - the ones who are sitting at home listening to this podcast in conjunction with video after video or pod after pod about passive income just wondering which way to go. Last week I gave you a tip on how to find a niche topic that aligns with your passions, now its time to grab the bull by the horns and take action.
Recently, I was on a podcast - Shoutout btw to Josh at Be Intentional podcast. My episode won’t air until May but his podcast is full of inspiring stories so go check it out.
Anyway, Josh asked me a question that I think is important to discuss here as well. He said, What do you say to the people just thinking about getting started?
That’s what has me fired up to talk to you today, more in-depth about that answer.
I have three nuggets for you to digest if you are stuck waiting to find the right thing.
Tip #1 there is no right thing - Find what your heart aligns with and go for that. The reason you're stuck is that you are trying to take everyone else's advice, everyone else's strategies, and evaluate them, but the problem is you’re evaluating it from a place of no experience. Nothing will seem right or feel safe until you start walking the path.
Which leads me to tip #2 - Take action - but take focused action. Here is what I mean by that… Keep your big picture in mind and stay the course. Don’t let yourself get sidelined by shiny object syndrome and spun around in circles not getting anywhere. You can do this. Just take one step at a time until it is done. Keep a list of to dos on your desk and don’t stop until they are all checked. It may take 90 days - it may take 3 years. Everyone has a different journey.
"When we make choices based on what people around us are doing or have done it’s like trying on other people's clothing and hoping it feels comfortable". quote by Lindsay Sutherland thepassiveincomeexaminer.com
Tip #3 - Don’t compare yourself to others. Compare yourself to yourself. Maintain integrity with yourself! Stay true to yourself by following what feels right. Look, it has happened to the best of us. We start down a path and look around at people who have more, accomplished more, or who appear to have accomplished more. None of that matters!
Let me share with you the words I shared with Joshua.
When we make choices based on what people around us are doing or have done it’s like trying on other people's clothing and hoping it feels comfortable.
What we need to do is dress ourselves by what feels good to us. Listening to the inner voice inside that is beaming its truth.
